Seasonal Course Update

New Summer Courses are now OPEN for Golf, Rowing and Sailing

Working with local providers we are delighted to be able to offer our students a number of new enrichment activities for the Summer term, including Golf, Rowing and Sailing. Applications are currently open to students in all year groups, no previous experience is necessary and all equipment and professional instruction is provided. A member of Calday staff attends all sessions.

Rowing on a Monday Evening

Course 3 Commencing 20/4 and then 27/4, 4/5, 11/5, 18/5 and 1/6

Sessions take place at the Victoria Rowing Club, Wallasey Docks.  Students leave school at 1535 travel by school mini bus returning to school for approximately 1815.  The cost for 2 hours per week for 6 weeks is £92. 

Covers: All aspects of rowing both on and off the water

Clothing: Warm comfortable layers, no hoodies, wear old clothes as boats can be greasy.

Sailing on a Tuesday Evening

Course 2 Commencing 21/4 and then 28/4, 5/5, 12/5, and 19/5

Sessions take place at West Kirby Sailing Club. Students make their own way to the club.  The sessions start at 1600 and finish by 1800.  The cost for 2 hours per week for 5 weeks is £100.   The cost also includes an invitation to our Summer Regatta being held on Friday 26th June.

Includes: wetsuits and buoyancy aids, however if you have your own feel free to use them. Waterproofs are not provided but are advisable. Wet shoes or trainers and a swimming costume are also needed. 

NEW Golf on a Tuesday Evening

Course 1 Commencing 21/4 and then 28/4, 5/5, 12/5, 19/5 and 2/6

Sessions take place at Caldy Golf Club. Students make their own way to the club.  The sessions start at 1600 and finish by 1700.  The cost for 1 hour per week for 6 weeks is £80. 

Covers: All aspects of golfing including grip/stance/swing/rules and etiquette

Clothing: School trousers and shirt are fine or bring a polo and sweater – no hoodies. Clubs are provided but you can use your own if preferred.

If you wish your son or daughter to be considered for a place please complete the online application form found on the right hand side of this page.

The deadline for submitting application forms is Sunday 15th March. Successful applicants will be notified w/c 16th March and the payment option then added to parent pay.  Payment for courses is required by Sunday 22nd March. If you wish to pay by instalments this can be arranged, please contact us.

Places are limited and we anticipate a lot of interest.  In the event applications exceed availability names will be drawn from a hat.  If payment (or a deposit) is not received by Sunday 22nd March the place will be withdrawn and offered to another student.

We plan to run a second summer course when these sessions finish, further details will be published in due course. Anyone not successful in the first round will automatically be added to the draw for later sessions.
