Financial Support with Travel
Distance is no barrier.
Calday students travel from areas across Wirral, Chester, Ellesmere Port and North Wales.
The school operates buses serving Wallasey, Chester, Ellesmere Port and North Wales, this service is provided at cost for parents (non-profit). Bus services from other areas are provided by Merseytravel at a commercial rate.
The Governors of the school recognise that travel costs may represent a significant barrier to choosing a Grammar school education. In agreement with our Governors, we are launching a scheme to support financially disadvantaged students with travel costs from September 2019 onwards. This is funded by our Pupil Premium funding received from Central Government.
We hope that this support will allow parents to choose a high quality grammar school education, irrespective of their financial circumstances.
