Moth - Hope Street Theatre

Next Thursday, Friday and Saturday (16th – 18th May) former students Ben Newman and Daniel Vilela and current student, James Kelly, will be performing in a new production of Moth by Declan Green at The Hope Street Theatre in Liverpool.

‘these pieces of light, flapping against the dark. And they’re screaming, they’re all around me. Clouds of dust rise as they swarm… Moths.’

Moth tells the story of Sebastian (Ben Newman) and Claryssa. “Sebastian is “that kid” at high school. He’s obsessed with comics, and talks to himself. But after a catastrophic fallout with his only friend, Claryssa, he wakes up with a moth in a jar by his bed, and a calling to save the souls of all humanity. And so begins the Passion of Sebastian: a journey into a terrifying and starless night.

In a show that moves seamlessly between the trials of the playground to enormous robotic angel saints and back again, Moth is a firework of a play. Channelling Donnie Darko, Disco Pigs and Copenhagen, it is a fast, funny and heartbreaking story about two young people with nowhere to go.”
