Academic

Our academic curriculum provides high-quality teaching and learning delivered by well-qualified subject specialists; flexibility, both in terms of the choice of subjects and matching subjects to the individual needs of students; a platform for learning which ensures a smooth transition to the next stage of each student’s education.

We have four academic faculties, our faculty structure is designed to group related subjects together and to foster a culture of excellence both in students and through the ongoing professional development of our specialist teachers.

We are confident that within each of our four faculties, individual subject areas offer a broad and stimulating education, which challenges the students and extends well beyond the requirements of the National Curriculum.

The school has a very successful record of supporting students to gain entry to their chosen courses at Oxford, Cambridge and the Russell Group Universities, as well as securing prestigious Apprenticeships for many of those who choose an industry-based path after Sixth Form study.

Centre

CCS 857.jpg

Strikingly light and airy, the re-designed and refurbished Learning Resource Centre was opened in September 2006.  This attractive space provides a high quality traditional school library, as well as a modern study space on two levels for all students who wish to access it.

We are keen to maintain an up-to-date research facility for our students and regularly review the stock, both physical and electronic, to ensure that the Learning Resource Centre meets the changing needs of students and examination specifications.
