    Support staff vacancies


    Catering Assistants (x 1)
    Required September 2018 

    Grade:                       Band B - £8.93 per hour (minimum) + defined benefit pension scheme, free parking
    Hours of work:             4 hours per day (9:00 am to 1:00 pm)
    Contract type:             Term time only
    Contract term:             Permanent

    Our in-house catering team provide fresh and tasty food to around 1,000 customers each day across our multiple food outlets. We are proud of the service that we provide and are seeking a dynamic individual who is passionate about food and working with children and young people.

    Due to increasing student numbers and more of our students choosing to dine at school, we are seeking to appoint a catering assistant to work as part of the team.  The main duties of the role, under the supervision of the Catering Supervisor, will include assisting with the preparation and service of food, putting away food deliveries and the cleaning of premises and equipment.

    Biology Technician
    Required September 2018

    Salary:                      Pay Band E (Pt18 £9,266.11 per annum)
    Contract type:           Term Time only – 21 hours per week (3 days)

    We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic and highly organised technician with specific knowledge of Biology to join our team of technicians at the school.  Each member of the team plays a critical part in delivering an excellent and exciting programme of scientific education. 

    The purpose of the role is to support the academic staff in the smooth running of the department, offering technical assistance to staff and students in and out of lessons. Previous experience in a school environment would be advantageous.

    Main duties will include;

    • setting up and managing experiments and practicals up to A Level
    • organising and maintaining stock and equipment
    • taking responsibility to ensure the maintenance of a healthy and safe working environment

    Lunchtime Supervisors

    Required as soon as possible

    Grade:                          Band B - £8.19 per hour (minimum) + final salary pension scheme, free parking
    Contract type:             Term time only
    Hours of work:            12.45 pm to 2.00 pm each day
    Contract term:             Permanent
    We are seeking to appoint caring, highly motivated and enthusiastic Lunchtime Supervisors to work as part of a team supervising our students during their lunchtimes to ensure their safety and welfare.
    The successful candidates should be able to:
    communicate well with children and adults;
    -  demonstrate a calm and understanding approach to children’s behaviour;
    -  use their own initiative, and seek support from others when needed.
    Previous experience is desirable but not essential, however we would expect you have an understanding of our student’s needs and to be committed to providing a good role model through appropriate attitudes and personal qualities.

    Calday Grange Grammar School is in partnership with Liverpool John Moores University and The Heath Teaching School and is seeking to appoint highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic future teachers who would like to begin an exciting career in teaching in a prestigious and very successful grammar school.

    We are currently looking to recruit enthusiastic graduates for our School Direct courses in:-

    Mathematics
    Chemistry/Science

    Support and professional development

    We have a bespoke program of training and development which will involve observation of lessons, collaborative teaching, solo teaching and pastoral responsibility working with a form group which will give you a full exposure to the full age and ability range within the school.

    As a trainee, you will be assigned a subject mentor and a senior professional coordinating mentor and have regular training sessions covering the requirements and standards needed to become a professional teacher. In addition, there will be external training in Liverpool John Moores University on the theory of teaching.

    From September you will be teaching a bespoke timetable approved by your subject mentor having attended a school induction session where you will learn about the ethos andf organisation of the school

    Our programme aims to prepare you to:

    - Become an effective secondary school teacher

    - Become knowledgeable subject specialists who can take on later responsibilities in curriculum development

    - Become good classroom practitioner

    - Become successful form tutors and collaborative colleagues.
